North Star Ventures, founded in 1989, provides small business consulting, training, and technical support assistance for QuickBooks and Sage 50 accounting systems. Our Certified Consultants work with business managers, their CPAs, and their computer dealers to assist in automating those systems. We also perform data conversions to Sage 50 and QuickBooks, and assist with Sage Crystal Reports and QuickBooks Advanced Reporting.

Consultants
Thomas Youngman founded North Star Ventures in 1989 and has more than 30 years of experience installing & designing PC based accounting systems. He is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a Sage Certified Consultant. He was a manager at KPMG’s Boston office in charge of micro-computer implementations. Tom is a CPA in Massachusetts and North Carolina. He is the former Director of Product Marketing and Design at Layered, Inc. which was acquired by Sage in 1990. He has a BS degree from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
Stephen Gillis is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a Sage Certified Consultant, and an Act! Certified Consultant. He has over 30 years of experience installing software, hardware, and network operating systems. He was a senior business systems analyst for an insurance agency in the Boston area supporting clients on PC, WAN, LAN NT and Unix based networks. He has worked as a technical support specialist supporting accounting software and hardware on multiple platforms. Steve has a BS degree in Computer Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts.
